$15,000

At most DJ and dance nights going down around the Valley, chances are you’ll be shaking your moneymaker to the same genres of music week after endless week. That ain’t the case on Friday nights at Medizona, 4240 North Winfield Scott Plaza in Scottsdale, thanks to the efforts of the Ultra Lounge DJs, who’re striving to break up the musical monotony. Every week, each member of the five-person turntablist crew — including Randy B., Erik DC, Brazilia, and Honey Du — gets a turn at conjuring up their own unique night with a distinctive rhythm and sound, combining their beats with those of various guest musicians and DJs. Next up is she-jay spinstress Melotronix, who’ll serve up electronica and downtempo tracks on Friday, April 25, with “glitchy sticky beats” from San Diego’s OSaL8 and Breakah, as well as dubstep from locals Louder and Terra. The mixing begins at 10 p.m. and there’s no cover. Visit www.myspace.com/ultraloungedjs.
