Black metal beast Abigail Williams came screeching out of the Arizona desert a few years ago to much acclaim with its 2007 EP, Legend. Metalunderground.com and Hardcoresounds.net gave the band props, and Kerrang! wrote that they "have taken fresh-faced metal down the left hand path" and "the result is obscenely exciting."

The sinister sextet's latest aural assault, this year's In the Shadow of a Thousand Suns (Candlelight), continues the band's blistering trend of expertly orchestrated metal brutality. The first video from the album, "Into the Ashes," features some dark, heady imagery set to the  song's symphonic, searing black thrash. "We filmed the video underneath the London Bridge in this dungeon-like area that they used to store dead bodies in," says Abigail Williams frontman Ken Sorceron. "We felt right at home, minus the smell, of course."

"Into the Ashes" will debut on Headbanger's Ball on MTV2 this Saturday morning, sometime between 2 and 3 a.m. In the meantime, you can get an early gander at the whole video on the Headbanger's Ball  blog. -- Niki D'Andrea
