The Mill Avenue scene is about to get another nightspot.
Vintage Lounge & Grill, a slick new eatery and drinkery located at 411 South Mill Avenue in Tempe, opens to the public tomorrow night with a boffo grand opening fete.
Occupying the second-floor space formerly occupied by the old Coconut Club Bar & Grill, the new enterprise is owned by Mark Brown, Jay Johar, and Ryan Harris (the same trio behind The Water’s Edge in Chandler). It’s within walking distance to other Hayden Square hotspots like Margarita Rocks and the Tavern on Mill, as well as the nearby Mill Avenue/Third Street Metro Light Rail station.
We’re hoping that Vintage will fare better than its predecessor, which closed earlier this year following issues with the liquor board. The opening night sounds pretty swank, promising a fashion show, half-priced eats from 7 to 9 p.m., $3 Skyy drinks all night, and an appearance by the Skyy Girls.
