Whip Lounge debuts tonight

By Benjamin Leatherman

If you’re in the mood for a little sexy and sinful nightlife action this evening, head on over to Mill Avenue in Tempe where Whip Lounge is celebrating its grand opening with a primo blowout. Party monster extraordinaire Brian Durkee will be presenting the affair, which starts at 9 p.m.

The kinky-sounding club and lounge takes over the spot previously occupied by live music haven The Loft, which closed its doors early last month. Whip promises to be a swank little destination for dancers and drinkers, with an upscale layout and decor that the brainchild of local firm Nolo Concepts, the cats who designed Scottsdale’s SIX Lounge and Dirty Pretty.

Local spinsters DJ Fashen and DJ XXXclusive will serve as the club's residents, spinning rock 'n' roll tracks at hot weeklies like "Leather and Lace Fridays" and "Whip Mondays."

Check out some of the joint's other upcoming events (as well as some pics of smokin hot chicks straddling guitars) over on Whip's MySpace page - www.myspace.com/whiplounge.
