Tempe Music Festival 2009 (April 3 and 4) is hosting a Garage Band Competition for student bands to get the chance to play. To be eligible, half your band members must be attending a Valley high school or college.

Normally, I’m not fan of any battle of the bands. More often than not, they are scams that benefit only the host of the competition, but this competition has a tangible prize for the winner. It may not turn you into a better artist than Stevie Nicks in one TV season, but at least you will get a fun show out of it.
