Hey, would you guys be interested in learning about 9/11 conspiracy theories? Thought so…
Christ, here we go again! ScrewLooseChange’s James Bennett has just reported on the upcoming “2007 Justice and Freedom Conference” to be held in Irvine, CA, March 9-12. This kook confab, part deux, is being hosted by the Freedom Law School, which is not a real law school, but instead one of these wing-nutty organizations that supposedly teaches you how to liberate yourself from paying taxes without ending up in a cell sharing a toilet with a dood named Bubba.
What the hell 9/11 conspiracies have to do with dodging your income taxes is beyond me, but there are a number of 9/11 moon units on the speaker’s list. These include: former Lyndon LaRouche-ite Webster Tarpley; Kevin “I would still have to characterize the Holocaust as it is taught in the US as a hideously destructive myth” Barrett; Mark Anderson — reporter for the American Free Press, published by longtime anti-Semite Willis Carto, also publisher of The Barnes Review; and Dylan Avery, boy wonder director of Loose Change.
Avery did not attend the Chandler 9/11 conference, supposedly because of the participation of Eric D. Williams, author of The Puzzle of Auschwitz, so his attendance at a screwball event like this one is a head-scratcher. Also, Avery expressed doubts about Kevin Barrett’s stated views of the Holocaust in February, but now he’ll be attending a conference with the guy? Go figure. And if he’s worried about “the movement,” why cozy up to Willis Carto’s American Free Press? Here’s a little slime from Carto to give you a picture of what he’s all about:
Will you step up to support New Times this year?
We’re aiming to raise $30,000 by December 31, so we can continue covering what matters most to you. If New Times matters to you, please take action and contribute today, so when news happens, our reporters can be there.
If Satan himself, with all of his super-human genius and diabolical ingenuity at his command, had tried to create a permanent disintegration and force for the destruction of the nations, he could have done no better than to invent the Jews. (Quote from: ADL Web site. )
I was accused several times of doling out “guilt by association,” when it came to the 9/11 deniers at the Chandler conference. But I think you should be responsible or “accountable,” to some degree, for associating with crackpots, cranks, and anti-Semites. What’s next, a 9/11 Conference at a Klan rally? Don’t these guys ever learn?
