Call it a dress rehearsal for a huge event at the end of March, when the University of Phoenix Stadium will be the site of the NCAA West Regionals in men’s college basketball.
Tomorrow afternoon, ASU and its superstar soph James Harden (pictured shooting jumper) will take on Brigham Young University in what will be the second basketball game ever played at the big house.
Actually, the first game will be played right before the main attraction, between Louisville and the University of Minnesota.
ASU is off to a great 8-1 start, and is ranked 20th in the latest Associated Press poll. Though unranked, BYU is undefeated in ten games, and the battle in what’s being dubbed by as the “Stadium Shootout” promises to be a good one.

If you can’t catch the game in person–we know it’s a schlep for everyone east of the freeways-it will be on television around 2:30. The Sun Devils aren’t bad, and Mr. Harden is very, very baddddd. — Paul Rubin
