Beer Thief Stabs Would-Be Hero During Heineken Heist

The Peoria Police Department needs the public's help in tracking down a man they say stole a few Heinekens from a Circle K convenience store last night.

According to police, the thief stole two 12-packs of Heineken from a Circle K near 87th Avenue and Bell Road. During the heist, a man named Brandyn Asbury tried to stop the beer bandit, but was unable to do so.

During the scuffle, the thief stabbed Asbury before triumphantly walking out of the store.

Police say that the suspect walked backwards out of the store, defiantly holding the beer above his head.

Asbury was not seriously injured.

The Peoria PD released the above surveillance photo of the suspect. If you know him, you're asked to call the Peoria Police Department at 623-773-8311.
