Someone broke into Phoenix Mayor Phil Gordon’s house over the weekend and stole his laptop, but the alleged burglars didn’t take anything else.
Media reports indicate that the thieves left behind Gordon’s wallet and checkbook and other valuables in the home.
In an interview with 3 TV, Gordon speculated that he scared off the robbers when he woke up in the morning to make coffee.
A dead-bolted back door was apparently kicked in, breaking through the wall and the wooden door frame around the lock. It wasn’t until the next morning that Gordon realized someone had been in his home.
Police are investigating the incident and his security team is considering an increase in their presence.
New Times has a call into David Leibowitz, Gordon’s spokesman, for any updates.
