Chandler Police Looking for Missing Man With Autism

The Chandler Police Department is asking the public's help in tracking down a man with autism last seen yesterday morning.

Steven Michael DeMarlie, 44, was last seen about 11:30 a.m. yesterday by his family. He told them he planned to go hiking in the Tonto National Forrest with his dog, a white lab.

DeMarlie called a friend in Chicago about 3:30 p.m. and hasn't been heard from since.

DeMarlie suffers from dyslexia, autism, an a "mild" mental handicap, Chandler police say.

He was last seen driving a red 2005 Nissan Altima with white mirrors and Arizona license plate 187WCE.

At the time of his disappearance, DeMarlie was wearing a green polo shirt, shorts, and hiking boots. DeMarlie is 6 feet tall and weighs 240 pounds. He has brown hair and brown eyes.
