Phoenix police are searching for two unknown men believed responsible for the robbery and eventual death of a 90-year-old man.

Police say the man, Seymour Sendrow, died on Sunday as a result of his declining health due to injuries sustained during the robbery.

Around 8 a.m. on December 14, Sendrow and his wife were walking out of a bank on the 6000 block of North 19th Avenue in Phoenix, when a man described as Hispanic ran toward him, police say.

The man pushed Sendrow to the ground, and stole a briefcase with around $20,000 in cash.

Witnesses told police they saw two Hispanic men run away from the scene, one who drove away in a late-’90s red Ford Mustang.

A witness confronted the other man running with the cash-filled briefcase, when the man dropped the briefcase and continued running.

Sendrow suffered a broken hip and several other injuries from the attack, police say, but his wife was uninjured.

After Sendrow died on Sunday, police are going public with their search for the two men in relation to the robbery and Sendrow’s murder.
