Dun-derheads
You’ve got to spend money to make money.
Just ask the folks at Maricopa County who decided recently to appeal a $1,144.19 judgment issued against the county in U.S. Bankruptcy Court.
Terry Dake, the attorney representing the bankruptcy trustee who won the judgment, calls the county’s action “idiotic.”
“They’ll easily spend a thousand bucks writing briefs,” Dake says.
The tab will rise if there are oral arguments, he adds.
“It’s a waste of taxpayer money to appeal something for 1,100 bucks,” Dake grouses.
Wouldn’t this money be better spent on Rick Romley’s jihad against graffiti?
Hair Today
And speaking of profligacy, Channel 3’s Liz Habib flushed a bundle when she cut off the hair extensions she had recently grafted on. The Flash has reason to believe the extensions cost $2,000.
You’ll recall that Habib was detained and handcuffed by Scottsdale police in December after she raised a ruckus at Dos Gringos nightclub. The hissy fit was provoked by the club’s refusal to serve her — she had not brought an ID with her.
“As Ofc. Herrick was attempting to obtain the female’s story, she kept saying to us repeatedly, ‘You don’t know who I am?'” a police report stated. “The female subject had a strong odor of alcoholic beverage coming from her mouth. Her eyes were bloodshot and watery. . . . She pulled her arm away. She stated ‘Get your fucking hands off of me. I don’t have to tell you anything. Fuck you! I am fucking leaving!'”
This is so unperky. And such behavior required a significant image change. So Liz went with the hair extensions for about a month, then cut them off and returned to her old diabolical self.
The Flash didn’t ask, but I’ll bet any bankruptcy attorney would call this an idiotic waste of money. There are legions of anorexic anchors out there (not Liz) who could have used this money for treatment.
