In case you missed it, it's you, John Q. Taxpayer, who's currently funding a trip for one of Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio's deputies to go on a trip to Hawaii for more "birther" bullshit.

Indeed, the investigation once billed as being at "no cost to taxpayers" happens to have some cost to taxpayers.

Arpaio said "expects" the donation-funded "Cold Case Posse" to pay him back, but what taxpayer really wants to take that chance to send Scooby Doo and the gang to Hawaii to play detective?

According to what Arpaio told conspiracy theorist/alleged "special deputy" Jerome Corsi, the "birther" brigade is "with an MCSO deputy detective for safety reasons and to act as a liaison between MCSO and local law enforcement."

Arpaio's explanation for sending a deputy to Hawaii on the taxpayers' dime: "It's one deputy, so what?" he told the Arizona Republic.

Well, John Q. Taxpayer, how do you feel?
