Election Day is almost here, and you’re prepping for a long night of watching the returns on TV. You’ve returned your ballot, but how do you know if it got counted?
This is how. Follow these steps to check the status of your ballot in Maricopa County.
Use the Maricopa County ballot tool
Anyone in the county can check their ballot’s status at BeBallotReady.vote. Voters will need to submit some identifying information to open their personal voter dashboard.
Once logged in, the dashboard will show you the status of your ballot – whether it’s been mailed out, whether it’s been returned, and whether it’s been counted. You also can sign up for text and email alerts to get that information sent directly to you.
In addition, the dashboard allows you to change your voter and party registration as well as view a sample ballot.
What to do if you need a new ballot
The deadline to request a new mail ballot was Oct. 25. If you didn’t get yours, or if your ballot was damaged, you can go to any in-person polling location to request a replacement. Those can also be found at BeBallotReady.vote.
Don’t want to vote in person?
Good news: If you got a mail ballot, you don’t have to. You can drop it at any polling place on Nov. 5, or you can find one of the county’s many drop box locations.
