Our own Senator John McCain reportedly put out a statement today in support of President-Elect Barack Obama’s pick of Governor Janet Napolitano as head of homeland security. Um, duh.

Even his own presidential campaign failed to invigorate McCain’s Arizona Republican Party, something that might cause a mere mortal some chagrin. If Napolitano leaves, Secretary of State Jan Brewer (who makes McCain look like Ralph Nader) will be guv.

And McCain can get the credit for Arizona’s GOP governor, for running such a crappy campaign himself! — Amy Silverman
