If you want to accuse someone of lying, it helps to tell the truth yourself.
That said, Congressional candidate Jon Hulburd may want to reconsider some wording used in his latest radio ad.
In an ad Hulburd released today called "Maturity," he claims his opponent in the District 3 Congressional race, Ben Quayle, is a big, fat liar.
He also likens Quayle to a prepubescent kid, which almost made us laugh until we realized that Quayle's on the same side of nearly every issue -- including supporting SB 1070 (we'll get to that later) -- as Hulburd.
Check out the ad after the jump.
As you can see, in no uncertain terms, Hulburd's ad claims Quayle lied about having kids -- the problem being Quayle never lied about having kids.
The claim is in reference to a campaign mailer Quayle sent to voters in the district that shows him playing with his two nieces.
The campaign of one of Quayle's primary opponents insisted the kids were "rented." Read all about Quayle's "rented" family here.
Point being: Quayle never claimed the kids were his. So while the mailers could be considered misleading, he never lied.

As for Hulburd's support of SB 1070, and his opposition to the DREAM Act, his campaign spokesman, Josh Abner, tells New Times:
"Jon supports SB 1070 because it finally woke up the federal government to act on improving the situation with our nation's southern border. Jon is not willing to consider any piece of comprehensive immigration reform [like the DREAM act] until the nation first acts to bring operational control of the border."
Hulburd's ad says, "Anyone can recite the correct talking points, but that doesn't mean they have the maturity and life experience required to represent me and my family in Congress."
Similarly, anyone can put a (D) next to their name in a Congressional race, but that doesn't mean he's a real Democrat.
