Reader support matters more than ever
We're in the final stretch of our summer campaign. Our goal is to raise $15,000 by August 9 to support the journalism our community relies on. Reader support is helping shape the future of local news.

I just checked weather.com and it’s 102 degrees. Face it, your chances for communing with nature are growing slimmer by the second.
Before the summer sun banishes you to an air-conditioned existence, take this chance to visit the Desert Botanical Garden. Tonight the garden will feature an art exhibit called Walking on Dry Land by Mayme Kratz made entirely out of organic materials.
The garden is open daily until 8p.m. from May through September. Walking on Dry Land is on display daily until 5 p.m. through May 30. For more information, see the Desert Botanical Garden’s Web site.
