Manuel Alvarez says he was only being a good samaritan when he grabbed a 15-year-old girl's boobs on a Phoenix sidewalk last night. He's even got a story for why he allegedly tried to kiss her -- and offer her money for sex -- too.
According to court documents obtained by New Times, the 47-year-old Alvarez was riding his bike along the 9000 block of West Indian School Road about 10 p.m. yesterday when he approached the 15-year-old victim.
He allegedly grabbed hold of the girl and wouldn't let go. She managed to escape his grip, but Alvarez wasn't done.
The girl later told police that Alvarez got off his bike, managed to grab her again, and started fondling her.
The victim says he tried to kiss her, and offered her various amounts of money to have sex with him, despite the girl's having told him she was only 15.
The girl escaped -- again -- and called police.
Alvarez was arrested shortly after. His account of the alleged assault is slightly different.
Alvarez told police he grabbed the girl to keep her from falling into the street. He says he may have accidentally grabbed her boob in the process.
As for the kiss, Alvarez says he leaned his head close to the girl's because he was checking to see if her breath smelled like alcohol.
Then there's the money, which Alvarez claims he offered the girl so she could go to a doctor and get "help."
Believe it or not, cops decided to go with the girl's story, and Alvarez's been charged with one count each of enticing a person for prostitution, kidnapping, and sexual abuse.
