If your car-buying options in Scottsdale seem to be getting a little weak, don’t worry — McLaren’s coming.
Consider the McLaren P1, a 903-horsepower hybrid. Of course, you’ll need $1.15 million, which is a little on the high side.
McLaren’s one of the few iconic supercar brands that can’t be found in Scottsdale at the moment. Dealers for Ferrari, Lamborghini, and Bugatti have been around for some time. Even Scottsdale Ferrari-Maserati sells (sold?) Fisker cars.
It’s kind of a wonder that Scottsdale ever made it this long without a McLaren dealer, since they can already be found in cities like Philadelphia and Tampa.
It’s going into a location around 83rd Street and Raintree Drive, in the Scottsdale Airpark, in a location that seems to have some turnover. In recent years, it was the home of Scottsdale Lotus, as well as a place called Elite Motor Sales, which sold older exotic cars. Both of those have since relocated.
The McLaren dealer doesn’t have an opening date yet. It’s owned by the Auto Gallery, which owns several dealerships of exotic cars in Beverly Hills.
With all that out of the way, here’s a video of McLaren’s ol’ F1 going up against a Bugatti Veyron on Top Gear:
