President Barack Obama has announced his nominee to fill John Paul Stevens’ spot on the Supreme Court.
She’s Elena Kagan, and she’s already getting dubbed a lesbian because of the way she looks, and because of a photo of her playing softball that was published on the front page of the Wall Street Journal yesterday.
Similar claims were made about former Arizona governor and now U.S. Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano, who herself was among those under consideraton for the retiring Stevens’ position.
The White House already has said Kagan is not a lesbian, but that hasn’t kept people from debating whether sexuality will affect a Supreme Court justice’s ability to do the job.
