Another day, another accused athlete.
The last few days have seen local sports celebs Charles Barkley, Cardinals player Larry Fitzgerald, and Indy 500 driver Danica Patrick in the news for various incidents.
This week it’s Phoenix Suns player Jason Richardson, who — like Barkley — was busted on New Year’s Eve on suspicion of driving drunk. Early reports of Richardson’s arrest began showing up on in the comments sections of the articles about Barkley, and the news was confirmed today by local news station Channel 15 (KNXV) and repeated in numerous other media outlets.
Richardson was reportedly stopped on the Loop 101 by an officer with the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community, who cited the player for failing to stay in one lane and DUI above .08 BAC.
Richardson’s fresh to the Phoenix metro area from the Charlotte Bobcats, having been traded just last month for three Suns players.
