Marcin Gortat had a solid weekend for the Suns, pulling down 12 rebounds each night, scoring 15 and 12 points, respectively, and blocking four shots on the weekend. Gortat has hit double-digits in rebounds for 15 straight games, which matches the Minnesota Timberwolves' Kevin Love's season-high streak.
The Rockets held Steve Nash in check, allowing the star to score only six points, though he did dish out nine assists in only 25 minutes of playing time. Against the Bobcats, Nash scored 11 points and made 10 assists. Backup guard Michael Redd led the Suns with 17 points against the Bobcats.
It was the first start in almost two years for Redd, who is coming back after multiple injuries. After the game, he said: "To come back, through the tears, through the hurt, through the hours of rehab, training to come back and accomplish this is maybe the proudest moment of my career."
