The Phoenix Police Department's SWAT team rammed a house Tuesday morning with a giant truck, trying to storm the home after 32-year-old Israel Celis Sr. allegedly kidnapped his own child and beat his wife in a hotel room. 

An Amber Alert that set off a nearly 12-hour chase and standoff ended Tuesday morning after Celis shot himself as police battered and swarmed the home. (The incident also prompted the Phoenix PD to post an ambiguously funny tweet trying to explain why it had driven a car into a Valley home -- read on.)
