A Phoenix man was hospitalized earlier this week after his wife allegedly yanked on his testicles during an apparent argument, causing his scrotum to tear open.

Sylvia Yazzie, 39, faces two felony charges for the alleged attack.

According to court documents obtained by New Times, Yazzie gave a pull to her husband's testicles while the two were inside their apartment around 4 a.m. on Sunday.

The couple live at their apartment, near 23rd Avenue and Dunlap, with their three children.

A police probable-cause statement does not indicate any motivation for the attack, but says she pulled his testicles "in anger, causing the scrotum to tear and bleed."

Yazzie's husband was lying in bed at this point, and she got on top of him and squeezed his neck, according to the court documents. Her husband told police he felt like he was going to lose consciousness during the attack, and he was transported to a nearby hospital to be treated.

Court documents state there are indications that Yazzie is an alcoholic.

She was booked into jail on one count of aggravated assault with temporary disfigurement, and one count of domestic-violence aggravated assault.
