The San Diego County Sheriff's Department later today will announce its findings in the bizarre death of Rebecca Zahou, the girlfriend of Scottsdale-based Medicis CEO Jonah Shacknai.
Zahau's body was found naked, hog-tied, and hanging from a balcony at Shacknai's Coronado mansion in July.
The SDCSD will reportedly announce that Zahau's death was a suicide.

The Arizona Republic spoke to Zahau's sister about the SDCSD's findings.
From the Republic:
Mary Zahau-Loehner said that she was unconvinced when San Diego County sheriff's investigators explained their findings during a visit to her home in St. Joseph, Mo., on Wednesday. Zahau-Loehner said she spoke with her sister the night before her body was found and she gave no indication that she planned to take her own life.
"She sounded tired, but other than that, she sounded like Rebecca," Zahau-Loehner said. "I wouldn't call her distraught. She was upset, very concerned and very worried over Max's condition, just like any caregiver or parent would be."
Zahau-Loehner said Thursday that she peppered investigators with questions and urged them to complete more forensic testing. Family and friends do not believe Zahau's death was a suicide, she said.
"There are still unanswered questions," Zahau-Loehner said. "All the things that they brought out to explain a suicide, it does not add up to my sister. There is evidence that needs to be looked into and needs to be further investigated."

With the SDCSD's finding that the death was a suicide, the investigation into how Zahau died will presumably be closed. However, it's still one of the strangest deaths we've ever heard about -- again, she was naked and hogtied; not exactly the ideal way to die. Even seasoned detectives conclude that the idea that Zahau's death was a suicide is hard to believe.
But we want to know what you think: do you buy the SDCSD's presumed finding that Zahau's death was suicide?
