Russell Pearce Shoves Carlos Galindo? Let’s Go To the Videotape

Want more proof that state Senator Russell Pearce can’t control his temper? Other than the alleged incidents with his spouses, present and past, that is? Not to mention the fruit-doesn’t-fall-far-from-the-tree allegations against his son Joshua.

Then check this video from radio show host Carlos Galindo, who dogged Pearce at today’s press conference for Governor Jan Brewer’s bogus SB 1070 “counterclaim” against the federal government.

Pearce, apparently, shoves Galindo away from him at one point. (Note: Galindo’s camera does not catch actual contact.) Galindo calls him out on it, and if looks could kill, Galindo would be pushing up daffodils right about now.

“Don’t get in my face,” growls Pearce, who up until then, seemed to have been enjoying all the hate he was receiving from the attendant protesters.

Did Pearce commit assault? Well, this is what A.R.S. 13-1203 states regarding assault:

13-1203. Assault; classification

A. A person commits assault by:

1. Intentionally, knowingly or recklessly causing any physical injury to another
person; or

2. Intentionally placing another person in reasonable apprehension of imminent
physical injury; or

3. Knowingly touching another person with the intent to injure, insult or provoke
such person.

B. Assault committed intentionally or knowingly pursuant to subsection A, paragraph
1 is a class 1 misdemeanor. Assault committed recklessly pursuant to subsection A,
paragraph 1 or assault pursuant to subsection A, paragraph 2 is a class 2
misdemeanor. Assault committed pursuant to subsection A, paragraph 3 is a class 3
misdemeanor.

Perhaps Galindo should file a complaint with the Phoenix Police Department. After all, it’s only a matter of time before Pearce blows his lid and socks someone. And if Galindo’s complaint goes nowhere, at least it’ll be on file to establish a pattern on the part of Arizona’s most aggro state Senator.
