5.) Laveen Suspects "Click-N-Ship" 3,700 Pounds of Pot by U.S. Mail in Three Years, Feds Say

 

A Laveen-based group shipped nearly two tons of pot through the U.S. Mail in the past three years, a federal indictment states.

Oneil Watson (a.k.a. Richard Powell), was indicted on Friday, and Kerry Ann Hoo, Marlon Powell, Albert Kelly, Rebekah Robertson and Priscilla Zuniga were indicted on February 25th in a separate proceeding, all concerning the suspected large-scale pot-shipping scheme.

4.) Two Phoenix Police Officers Shot, One Killed

 

Two Phoenix police detectives were shot while chasing a fugitive, authorities say.

The shooter was killed at the scene, near 43rd Avenue and Bethany Home Road.

3.) Senator Steve Gallardo Comes Out: "I'm Gay, I'm a Latino, and I'm a State Senator"

 

Sitting in the Senate Caucus room with a handful of reporters a week and a half after he delivered a rousing speech to activists protesting against an anti-gay measure at the Capitol, state Senator Steve Gallardo says it's time to announce his sexual orientation.

"I'm gay, I'm a Latino, and I'm a senator," he says, his voice quavering with emotion. "And it's okay."

2.) Video: Fatal Shooting Inside Walmart Store in Chandler

 

The Chandler Police Department has released the surveillance video from a fatal shooting that took place inside a Walmart two weeks ago.

Kriston Belinte-Chee, 36, was shot and killed by 25-year-old Cyle Quadlin on February 16 after the two got into an argument at the service counter that escalated into a physical fight.
