A teacher at a Tucson high school has been arrested after police say he carried out a sexual relationship with one of his students.

Thomas Saul, 31, a teacher at Catalina High School in Tucson, was arrested on Saturday after police say he had sex with one of his 17-year-old students several times and was brazen enough to do the deed in his classroom.

If you think it sounds like the plot of your standard porno -- minus that always-critical 18th birthday, of course -- you're right, it does. Unfortunately for Saul, this is the real world where a classroom romp with a student often lands teachers in the hoosegow.

Tucson police say the relationship between Saul and the student came to light after the girl's mother discovered an "inappropriate online relationship" between her daughter and her teacher.

The girl's mother, police say, asked her about the relationship and she copped to having sex with Saul in his classroom several times.

Aside from the girl's admission, police say they also have computer evidence supporting the claims.

After getting questioned by investigators on Saturday, Saul was booked into the Pima County Jail. He is expected to be charged with five counts of sexual conduct with a minor and one
count of luring a minor for sexual exploitation.
