The Peoria Police Department is hosting a DUI patrol this Saturday (September 7) in which cops from several West Valley agencies will saturate the streets in and around the city.
There will be 20 to 30 officers participating in the DUI roundup starting at 7p.m.
on Saturday and ending around 4 a.m. — yes, the weekend after Labor Day weekend. A spokeswoman for the Peoria police said the date was likely chosen because it worked for all the agencies involved.
The command post for the DUI Task Force will be set up at the Peoria Public Safety
Administration Building at 8351 W. Cinnabar Ave.
The DUI enforcement event is covered by a grant from the Governor’s Office of Highway Safety, and will include members of M.A.D.D. (Mothers Against Drunk Driving) providing food and water for officers.
