Father's Day tends to pale in comparison to May's Mother's Day, but there's no reason not to go all-out for both -- especially if that means taking Dad to a metro Phoenix restaurant (or comedy club!) for beers, BBQ, and bar food. There's a lot to enjoy on Sunday, June 16 in the Phoenix area, including a patio grill with games like mini golf, steak dinner specials, and plenty of boozy brunches.

Roaring Fork

Hit up this all-night happy hour at the Saloon & Patio with discounted appetizers like the Big Ass Burger, rotisserie chicken flatbread, and pork wings with Dr. Pepper BBQ sauce. For a more substantial dinner, the restaurant will have a special selection of hearty fare like bacon-wrapped pork tenderloin with cheese grits, sugar-cured duck breast with onion jam and sour cherry mustard, and rainbow trout sautéed with brown butter, roasted almonds, capers, and green beans. Pair your entrée with a specialty cocktail for only $5. For reservations, call 480-947-0795.

Salut Kitchen Bar

Dads can chow down on a free entrée on Father's Day at this new Tempe restaurant. Simply make a reservation for four or more and mention this promotion, and Pop can pick grilled filet mignon, pistachio-crusted salmon, honey-bourbon-glazed pork loin, or a sandwich like the Brie-Hive Panini (warm brie, prosciutto, arugula, and honey butter on sourdough). And if Dad's on a diet, the Sun Devil turkey burger will be a tasty compromise, topped with poblano peppers, avocado, pepper bacon, lettuce, tomato, and chipotle aioli.

Father and Daughter Tea at The Ritz-Carlton

Served from noon to 3 p.m., afternoon tea offers little girls the perfect setting to spend time with Dad on Father's day. Daughters will receive a bouquet of fresh flowers, and dads will get to take home a framed photo capturing the special celebration. Tea time includes finger sandwiches as well as fresh-baked scones and mini pastries. This holiday offer is $38 plus tax and gratuity. Reservations required; call 602-468-0700.

Go Lb. Salt

Arizona's local salt artisans have gourmet gifts and culinary classes just in time for Father's Day. If your papa likes to prepare home-cooked meals from scratch, choose from the DIY Dry-aged beef kit for $50 or a Makin' Bacon curing kit for $10 in flavors like applewood & maple, chocolate, coffee, and savory herb. Or, enjoy quality family time at one of two upcoming classes. The Sea Salt Tasting & Pairing class will be on June 20 ($45 per person), and the BYO Beef class on June 27 will cover the theory and practice of dry aging at home ($110). Check out the company's website to reserve a seat in class, or arrange to pick up your gift kit at a local farmers' market.

Tryst Café

A combination of deals makes this scrumptious brunch a great way to spend Father's Day no matter what your family dynamic. Feeling a little fancy? Enjoy bottomless Bloody Marys made with organic cucumber lime vodka for $12. Want a simple way to celebrate? Draft and select bottled beers are $3. Have a few munchkins in tow? Skip brunch and head there for dinner; kids ages 10 and under eat free starting at 4 p.m. every Sunday at Tryst Café.

TQLA

Not every dad is into beer. If yours has a taste for tequila instead, take him to brunch at TQLA, complete with a Bloody Mary bar and refreshing frozen peach bellinis. Hang out into the afternoon, and you can keep the party going by treating Dad to one of four tequilas on tap, hyper-cooled to 5 degrees. Brunch -- including giant homemade cinnamon rolls -- will be served from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., and there will be an all-day special mixed fajita plate with bacon-wrapped shrimp. For $27.95, there's plenty of sizzling meat and veggies, guacamole, tortillas, rice, and beans to share.

Stand-Up Scottsdale

If you get your sense of humor from dear ol' dad, this comedy showcase could be the perfect way to thank him. Stand-Up Scottsdale doesn't usually open on Sundays, so this $10 show will be very special. While his funny bone is being tickled, treat his stomach too with bar snacks, burgers, and beers. As an added bonus to a great evening out, dads will receive 2 free tickets to attend a future show.

Kelly's at SouthBridge

More than a meal, the Father's Day offerings at Kelly's pub include backyard games like mini golf and cards, contests, and drink specials like $10 buckets of beer and pitchers of sangria. The Garden Sunday festivities revolve around Kelly's new outdoor patio grill, serving burgers, brats, and chicken from 4 to 9 p.m. The holiday dinner special will be a steak dinner with a baked potato and a beer for $15.

Bottomless Beer Brunch at Central Bistro

From 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., you and your hops-loving pop can enjoy $15 bottomless beers along with the regular brunch menu at Biltmore's Central Bistro. Favorites include a weekly coffee & doughnut special, sweet corn pancakes with lime butter and blueberry-mint marmalade, country fried chicken & black pepper waffle with sausage gravy, smoked salmon six-egg omelet, short rib hash pizza with purple potatoes, and steak & eggs. There will also be live music. For reservations, call 480-646-8560.

Gina's Homemade

Some dads are simple -- give them a beer and some meat, and they're happy as a pig in you-know-what. If that sounds like your ol' man, don't pass up this Father's Day deal from Gina's Homemade: the all-Arizona Beer & Bacon Gift Pack. It includes a 12-pack sampler of local craft beer + 2 lbs. of Gina's house-cured bacon for $35. Order by calling 480-882-0787.

The House at Secret Garden Has Free Beer for Dads Celebrate early with a Saturday night steak dinner at this Central Phoenix restaurant. Every Dad who stops by for the holiday special -- grilled New York strip steak with Portobello and pork demi sauce, corn puree, and roasted carrots -- will get to enjoy a beer pairing for free. A locally brewed beer will be selected to complement the entrée. Dinner will be served on Saturday beginning at 5 p.m. For reservations, call 602-243-8539.

AZ Food Crafters

Want to enjoy a heap of Southwestern BBQ? For $59.99, you can get a feast that will feed a family of four to six, available for delivery or pickup. The meal includes a full slab of baby back ribs glazed with housemade peach chipotle sauce; whole citrus-roasted chicken; hatch New Mexico green chile mac and cheese; drunken pinto beans cooked in beer, salt pork, onion, garlic, jalapenos, brown sugar maple syrup, and tomatoes; and buttery, cheesy corn soufflé.
