Every week both the Phoenix and Scottsdale locations of Hula's Modern Tiki give back to the community through the Mahalo Mondays charitable giving program. And this month, the restaurant will be donating to the Association of Arizona Food Banks. That means 10 percent of all proceeds tonight and on every Monday through the month of January will go to the private, non-profit organization, which serves five regional food banks including Community Food Bank of Southern Arizona, Desert Mission Food Bank, St. Mary's Food Bank Alliance, United Food Bank, and Yuma Community Food Bank. Foosia Tuesday, January 13

On Tuesday Foosia, the fast-casual Asian food restaurant in Scottsdale, will be celebrating the restaurant's one year anniversary by giving customers a free lunch. Diners who come to the Chipotle-style, Asian fusion dining spot between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. will get a free Asian bowl, which can be loaded up with ingredients such as bell peppers, broccoli, onions, snap peas, shrimp, beef, chicken, slow roasted pork, and crispy tofu. Jewel's Bakery and Cafe Wednesday, January 14

If learning to cook was one of your New Year resolutions, then you might want to sign up for one of the bi-monthly cooking classes hosted by Jewel's Bakery and Café. The series kicks off on Wednesday with Pressure Cooker Soups and Stews with Chef Brad, a class that will teach students how to cook "delicious, warming soups and stews in your pressure cooker." The class, which starts at 6 p.m., costs $40 per person and includes recipes, take-home material, plus a complimentary house beverage.
