If you’ve been to an Arizona Diamondbacks game in the last few years, you know just how excited people get for free tacos.
Any time the D-backs would score six runs or more (which didn’t happen all that often, due to the team’s recent lack of offense), you could pick up a large drink from any participating Taco Bell and get three free crunchy tacos the next day within the given (early evening) time frame.

This year, the D-backs are helping people score more tacos by allowing the D-backs to score less runs.
Will you step up to support New Times this year?
At New Times, we’re small and scrappy — and we make the most of every dollar from our supporters. Right now, we’re $15,500 away from reaching our December 31 goal of $30,000. If you’ve ever learned something new, stayed informed, or felt more connected because of New Times, now’s the time to give back.
The new rule is that if the D-backs score five runs (still an uncommon feat for the team), everyone can get their hard-shell containers of meat, cheese and lettuce to complement their drink the next day between 2 and 4 p.m.
For $1 more than the price of your drink, you can get your tacos “D-backs style,” which includes tomatoes and sour cream.
We’ll see you at the field screaming “We want tacos!” when the D-backs are up 4-3 in the 8th inning at Chase Field.
