Finding good offal in Phoenix isn't hard to do; you just have to know where to look. A perfect place to start is at Great Wall Cuisine on West Camelback Road. This unassuming but spacious restaurant is one of the most popular places for dim sum in the Valley.
The Sunday morning spread is impressive, with cart after cart of Chinese specialties rolling past your table. There are tempting and familiar plates of fried noodles, dumplings, and egg rolls to choose from -- but also more adventurous options, like the barbecued chicken feet.
There's something seriously satisfying about digging into the gelatinous little feet, navigating the abundance of tiny bones to suck out pieces of flavorful meat, tendon, and fat. It's the kind of dish that requires patience and skill to eat -- particularly without making a giant mess -- but we always look forward to seeing them land on our table.
