CLOSED: McDuffy's Grille in Chandler

McDuffy's Grille, the Chandler sports bar with a long history in the Valley, has shuttered.

Originally opened just off Tempe's Mill Avenue in 1988, McDuffy's, describing itself as "a great neighborhood sports grill where you can come watch any game you can think of" was known for its walls of televisions, bar eats like wings, burgers, and pizza, and 20 on-tap brews.

According to Mouth by Southwest, the Tempe location shuttered in 2006, with owner Scott Adams opening the Chandler location on the northwest corner of McQueen and Pecos in 2007.

In 2006, McDuffy's opened a second location in Peoria, which closed its doors in 2010.

A rather abrupt announcement on the sports bar's Facebook page, posted on Wednesday, July 31, reads as follows:

"We are officially closed. We wish our amazing staff well and thank our loyal customers for being there through all our ups and downs. Thanks for the memories!"
