Tempe-based Huss Brewing Co. is runnin’ with the Devils.
The company announced Thursday that Arizona State University Athletics will make Huss its official craft beer for the 2025-2026 season “and beyond.”
In addition, the Tempe brewer is coming out with new Sun Devil-themed beers to mark the occasion and serve at ASU sporting events. Starting this month, Devil’s Halo Amber Ale will be available at spring sports games with proceeds going to the Sun Angel Collective, an organization that helps ASU student athletes monetize their name, image and likeness. It will also be available at retail stores, bars and restaurants later this month.
But the school’s official craft beer, according to Huss, will be the Devil Halo Lager, a 4.8% ABV Helles lager that Huss calls “crisp” and “easy-drinking.”
Last fall, it was Lagunitas serving a “Devil’s Halo” beer accompanied by the school’s pitchfork logo.
Huss Brewing’s announcement also noted the opening of a taproom — called the “Huss Hideout” — inside Mountain America Stadium (formerly Sun Devil Stadium) for the fall season.
“The ASU community has always supported Huss Brewing, ever since we started in a small warehouse space in south Tempe 12 years ago,” Leah Huss, co-founder of Huss Brewing Co., said in a press release. “So as Arizona’s premier craft brewer, we’re beyond excited to partner with Sun Devil Athletics on this exclusive collaboration for ASU fans and locals alike.”
Huss was founded in Tempe in 2013 by Leah and Jeff Huss. Before striking out on their own, Jeff was the head brewer at BJ’s Brewhouse for seven years and Leah was a managing partner at Papago Brewing Co. for 11 years. Over the years, Huss has become one of the largest craft beer producers in the state.
“As a family-owned craft brewery founded right here in Sun Devil country, we are excited that Sun Devil students, alumni and fans will be able to enjoy custom-crafted, team-branded beers as they cheer on Sparky and crew all year long,” Leah Huss said.
