Kanpai Sushi will be joining RA among the Mill Avenue dining mix. This sushi spot, though, will be at the southern end of the downtown stretch, in the Centerpoint space that used to house Pizzeria Uno.

Representatives for DMB Associates, the property manager, could not confirm whether this is a new restaurant or one affiliated with other local eateries. Based on the spelling, it's probably safe to say that Kanpai should not be confused with Kampai, a Japanese restaurant on Bell Road in North Phoenix.

(Easier said than done, though, as the Japanese word "kampai," which means "cheers," would be pronounced the same way whether it's spelled with an "n" or an "m".)
