Support the independent voice of Phoenix and help keep the future of New Times free.
Detroit-style pizza is coming to Phoenix. Jet's Pizza, a chain based in Sterling Heights, Michigan, is opening two locations in the East Valley, according to a spokesman.
The chain is known for its square, deep dish style pizza with crispy edges and a chewy crust. Unlike Chicago-style deep dish pizza, Detroit-style deep dish means a square pizza that offers a slightly different crust.
One store will be in Chandler, at 4245 S. Arizona Ave, and the other will be in Tempe, at a yet-to-be determined location.
The company's spokesman says an opening date has not yet been set for either store, but the hope is for both to open sometime this year.
