Yesterday we met Phil Edwards, the man behind the phantastic dive Philthy Phil’s in Phoenix. Today he shares with us the recipe for the Philster, a drink the bar sells in great numbers even though it’s not on the menu.

Like most items on Phil’s menu (like the potent Phuck Buckets), the Philster carries on the bar phonetic theme, though the drink is Edwards’ own personal creation.

“I just made it up!” he says. “People like their vodka and Red Bull, so I thought I’d make a little something like that and sweeten it up. People seem to like them.”

The drink’s simple yet potent, like a sweeter, smaller vodka Red Bull.

The ingredients:
1.5 oz. vodka
Splash grenadine
Splash Red Bull

How to make it:
Get yourself a 2-ounce shot glass or comparable vessel. Pour in first the vodka, then Red Bull, then the grenadine. Couldn’t be simpler.
