Valley chef Nik Fields has stayed on her grind. She opened a downtown coffee shop in December, followed by the reopening of her wine bar in Phoenix in January. Now, she can add Food Network cooking competitor to her resume.

Fields, who brands herself as the “Chic Chef,” will compete on an upcoming episode of “Guy’s Grocery Games.” On the show hosted by Guy Fieri, chefs run through a mock grocery store to gather ingredients and cook dishes based on quirky games and prompts. The last chef standing gets to shop the Flavortown Market for the opportunity to take home up to $20,000.

Fields will appear on episode 11 of season 36, titled “Friend to Foe.” It airs at 9 p.m. on Food Network this Wednesday.

“It was THEE most amazing experience!” Fields shared via text.

In the episode, chefs who haven’t met before are paired into teams and asked to create an elevated weeknight dinner while only shopping one half of the store for ingredients, according to Food Network. Then, partners must compete against each other in a head-to-head showdown, making entrees with just 10 ingredients.

This is Fields' first time competing on a Food Network show and she joins a class of local "Triple G" competitors. Other notable local chefs who have previously grabbed shopping carts, and some cash, in Flavortown Market include Sasha Raj and Rene Andrade.

Fields will host a watch party at her wine bar, Chic Chef 77, to celebrate the episode airing. The party will begin at 7 p.m. on Wednesday and will feature a DJ and food from Fields. She plans to serve her spin on a fish dish that she made during the “Grocery Games” competition. Reservations for the watch party are required and may be made online.
