Phoenicians will be seeing green this weekend – and not just because of the rain storms that have sparked some springtime color in the desert. While it's not officially St. Patrick’s Day until Monday, Kelly green-colored bites and sips are popping up on menus at restaurants and bars across the Valley to kick off a festive weekend.

Here are 10 drinking and dining specials and deals to savor for St. Patrick’s Day.

Start your St. Patrick’s Day celebration during breakfast at one of Over Easy’s 17 Valley locations. Among the local cafe chain’s staples is its corned beef hash – chopped corned beef with diced potatoes, bell peppers and onion – made with two eggs any style and served with a side of toast. Guests can also sip on a $5 green drink special – each location will whip up its own version.

SugarJam The Southern Kitchen

SugarJam has a new slate of drinks available in March, including a mimosa flight and a cocktail called Green Envy. The new $30 mimosa flight, The Lucky Trio, includes kiwi margarita, apricot pear and sour apple flavors. The Green Envy ($17) gets its hue from melon liqueur, which is mixed with lime, agave and mint, then topped with soda water. These limited edition sips will be poured until the end of the month.

Thirsty Lion will serve a special menu at its five Valley locations, including beer-braised corned beef and cabbage and Irish espresso martinis.

The gastropub chain Thirsty Lion invites guests to come “dressed to the ‘kilt’” – or at least in green. From Friday to Monday, the Thirsty Lion’s five Valley locations will feature bagpipers, Irish dancers, games and more alongside Irish-inspired dishes. Among those special bites are crispy bacon and cheddar potato cakes, shepherd’s pie and beer-braised corned beef and cabbage. The pubs will also offer three featured cocktails that will support St. Baldrick’s Foundation, which raises funds for children's cancer research. Order an Irish espresso martini, old fashioned or mule through Monday, and a portion of the tab will go to the foundation.

Pedal Haus Brewery

Pedal Haus Brewery has celebrations and specials planned on St. Patrick’s Day at its four Valley locations. All day Monday the downtown Phoenix, Tempe and Chandler kitchens will serve a fish-and-chips sandwich or plate and corned beef and cabbage. Pair your meal with one of the brewery’s many drinks specials — until 3 p.m. you can get green Day Drinker Light Lagers and Irish Stouts for $5. DJs or bands will perform from 1 to 7 p.m. at each outpost.
Proof Bread will serve a Bailey’s matcha croissant at its three Valley bakeries through Monday.

The homegrown sourdough bakery Proof Bread has whipped up a clover-colored croissant. The Bailey’s matcha croissant sets the earthy tea against a boozy pastry cream with the punch of the Irish liqueur. Lakeside Bar and Grill will serve St. Patrick’s Day food and drink specials from Saturday to Monday. Order a corned beef Reuben or an Irish quesadilla – a tortilla filled with cheese, corned beef and sauerkraut, served with Thousand Island dressing and whole-grain mustard. Sip on $4 pints of Guinness or a $12 flight of four Irish whiskeys, including Slane, Jameson Caskemates Stout Edition, Paddy’s and Bushmills Red Bush. Guitarist James Legrand will perform from 3 to 7 p.m. Monday.

The Chicago hot dog chain Portillo’s is blending up mint chocolate shakes to celebrate the holiday. The shake has a swirl of Portillo’s chocolate frosting and can be made into a cake shake, where a slice of cake is mixed in for an added layer of decadence. The treat is available at Portillo’s seven Valley locations, for takeout and delivery until March 31.

Recreo will throw a “Mostly Mexican and a Wee Bit Irish” celebration on Monday. The downtown Chandler eatery will serve green margaritas and beer, corned beef tacos and quesadillas and host performers, including the Arizona Fire Service Pipe Band.

If you’ve ever wondered what’s waiting at the end of the rainbow besides a pot of gold, Hash Kitchen has an idea, in cocktail form. From Friday to Monday the energetic brunch chain will serve the End of the Rainbow, a green mimosa flavored with kiwi and garnished with cotton candy. The restaurant’s seven Valley locations will also serve Irish-inspired eats, including corned beef hash, throughout March.

The American eatery Red, White & Brew will cook several Irish-inspired dishes from Saturday to Monday. Among those is a fusion appetizer, Reuben pizza rolls. Corned beef, Swiss cheese and sauerkraut are wrapped in house pizza dough, baked and served with Thousand Island dressing. Holiday entree options include a shepherd’s pie topped with Asiago-crusted mashed potatoes. Cap your meal with an Irish cream cheesecake.
