At Clean Eatz in North Scottsdale, the kitchen focuses on helping diners reach their health goals. Open since March 2024, the fast-serve, healthy food restaurant sells fresh and frozen meals for people in all stages of life.

Owners Andrew and Ashley Kish are Scottsdale residents who have a passion for fitness and eating right. When Andrew decided to leave the corporate world in 2020, the couple pursued their dream to start a business.

They considered different franchises, but ultimately chose Clean Eatz because they loved the founding philosophy: Eating right is a lifestyle, not a diet. The original Clean Eatz was launched in 2013 and started franchising two years later. The chain now has locations throughout the country, with two in metro Phoenix so far, and plans to grow. For the Kishes, the brand was a perfect fit.

“What we do makes a lot of people's lives easier and it has changed people’s lives for the better. I love being able to say that,” Ashley says.

When she isn’t in the back of the house handling food prep and office work, she thinks about the example they are setting for their two young sons.

“They are so proud of the restaurant,” she says. With a chuckle, she adds “(they) are our best little marketers.”

Healthy eating can be challenging for everyone, from athletes to busy professionals to seniors who can no longer cook. Clean Eatz’s diverse menu is comprised of meals that are all under 500 calories and provide balanced macros. The kitchen does not use any butter, seed oils, additives or preservatives, and can accommodate most dietary restrictions.

Located at Thompson Peak Parkway and Bell Road, the restaurant is a quiet spot for a quick bite inside or on the patio. The daily menu features wraps, build-your-own bowls, specialty burgers, smoothies and protein iced coffees. Top sellers include the smoky Turkey Burnt End Cuban Flatbread, sweet and spicy Firecracker Meatballs and gluten-free chicken nuggets.

The most unique feature in the restaurant is an entire wall of grab-and-go freezers with over 80 different meal options. Since these healthy pre-made meals come already cooked, customers can simply reheat the food at home or work. With over 1,200 rotating recipes, there is always something new.

“The chefs come up with such unique combinations,” Ashley says. “Things most of us wouldn’t think to put together – and it’s always delicious.”

For some busy customers, a meal prep option fits best into their schedules, Ashley notes. Customers can place an order by Sunday at 9 p.m. and pick up a week’s meals as early as the next day.

The menu changes weekly and is posted on the restaurant’s website. Unlike most food prep services, no subscription is needed, meaning customers can order when it’s convenient.

The Kishes are excited about bringing healthy and convenient food to the community and they plan to open a second location in Old Town Scottsdale later this year.
