The wait is almost over. By next week, Valley diners will be able to dig into 100 percent all-natural, antibiotic-free Angus beef burgers and fresh-made frozen custards at Shake Shack, the famous New York-based burger chain that's set to open three location in metro Phoenix this year.
The first of the restaurants will open at 11 a.m. Friday, February 26 at Scottsdale Fashion Square, specifically on the northwest corner of Scottsdale and Camelback Roads. The company announced its plans to open a restaurant at the mall about eight months ago, making this one of the most anticipated restaurant openings of the year.
In addition to the classic Shake Shack menu of burgers, hot dogs, custards, and fries, the Scottsdale Shake Shack will serve two location-specific frozen custard concretes. The first, named the Sun Devil, will feature vanilla custard, peanut butter sauce, marshmallow sauce, shortbread cookie, and a dusting of malt powder. The second will be the CamelShack, a combo of vanilla custard, salted caramel sauce, and a slice of banana cream pie from The Bakery Phx.

Two more Shake Shack restaurants are scheduled to open in the Valley this year. The second will open at Uptown Plaza in Central Phoenix on the northeast corner of Central Avenue and Camelback Road later this spring. The third is planned for Scottsdale's Kierland Commons.
