Less than six months after opening its doors in Old Town Scottsdale, Smokehaus, the Santa Maria-style barbecue joint from local restaurateur Dave Andrea, will close its doors on Saturday, June 4.
“We had high expectations for Smokehaus to be a huge success,” Andrea says in a press release. “Unfortunately, due to declining sales and unexpected increases in overhead costs, we have had to make the tough decision to close our doors.”
The restaurant specialized in central California-style barbecue, specifically tri-tip. The brick-and-mortar location grew from Andrea’s barbecue catering business, and the owner says Smokehaus will now “return to its catering roots.”
Andrea is currently looking for someone to take over the newly renovated space, which is located at 3636 North Scottsdale Road. Inquires can be made through The Restaurant Brokers at dave@therestaurantbrokers.com.
