Sonoran Beer Dinner and Vegan Corn Chowder in Today's Eater's Digest

Hungry for your early morning serving of food news, with no preservatives or additives?

Sonoran Beer Dinner
Mark your calenders for Thursday, June 30th -- chef Jeremy Pacheco and his team will be hosting the first of two summer beer dinners at Lon's at the Hermosa in Paradise Valley. Four gourmet courses will be paired with beer from local beer geeks, Sonoran Brewery starting with beer battered squash blossoms and Sonoran's Desert Ale. Next, chow down on seared scallops, beer braised short ribs, and Bing cherry pie with almond ice cream and Sonoran's White Chocolate Ale. $49 ++ per person. Reservations are required, call 602-955-7878 to save your seat.

Vegan Chowder
It's never too hot for corn chowder, especially when it's homemade. Since it's meatless Monday and corn is in season, we thought we would give this Vegan Corn Chowder recipe a try. We're a little leery of the cashew butter, but hey, you only live once! Give it a try and tell us what you think.
