Spread holiday cheer and snag a free taco all at the same time as part of the Phoenix Rescue Mission’s second annual Toys for Tacos fundraiser with Mesquite Fresh Street Mex, the restaurant announced recently.
The family-owned chain of restaurants started by two Scottsdale brothers – Ahmad and Naser Alatrash – aims to collect 1,000 new, unwrapped toys for families in need at drop-off sites at eight Mesquite locations throughout the Valley.
“This is our second year collecting toys and we want to surpass the amazing donations collected in 2020,” says co-founder Ahmad Alatrash. “We are thrilled to partner with Phoenix Rescue Mission to support their program and help spread holiday cheer to families throughout the Valley.”
The Phoenix Rescue Mission offers faith-based services for men, women, and children in the Valley who are struggling with homelessness, drug addiction, and trauma.
Toys can be dropped off at any Mesquite Fresh Street Mex location from now through December 15, according to a press release. Nonperishable foods and toiletries also will be accepted. There are storefronts in Phoenix, Gilbert, Mesa, Scottsdale, Surprise, and Tempe.
