Fans of Two Hippies Breakfast Joint, located on Seventh Avenue north of Indian School in Central Phoenix, may have recently noticed a slight change in the restaurant's appearance. Primarily, that it isn't called Two Hippies Breakfast Joint anymore.
Since the beginning of February, the restaurant has changed ownership and now goes by the name, Melrose Kitchen.
Here's what diners can expect.
Like Two Hippies Breakfast Joint, Melrose Kitchen is open for breakfast and lunch. And it's kept the former restaurant's funky interior.

A manager at Melrose Kitchen tells me the majority of the menu items are the same as Two Hippies, but that the lunch section has been expanded to include new dishes (think panini sandwiches, 1/3-pound Angus burgers, and linguini and meatballs).
