Two vibey, double-decker concepts in Old Town Scottsdale have quietly closed.

RnR Gastropub shuttered on Sunday. STK has finalized a slow goodbye.

RnR, the two-story sports bar facing Scottsdale Road, opened in Old Town in 2010. The expansive gastropub is owned by Evening Entertainment Group, the team behind sports bar Backyard, nightlife hot spot Bottled Blonde and other concepts in Arizona, Texas and Tennessee. Customers at RnR could grab a pint and a bite from one of its burnt orange seats, cool off under the misters and catch a game.

Its closure marks the most recent change for the restaurant group, which closed Chauncey Social in north Scottsdale on April 1.

Less than a mile away, STK has closed at Southbridge at the Waterfront. STK opened in Old Town in 2021. It was the state's only location of the New York-born vibe-dining steakhouse that merges the energy of a club lounge with chophouse fare. The Scottsdale outpost featured two floors for dining, including a rooftop bar that overlooked Stetson Drive.

The chain steakhouse initially said goodbye in April, when its Yelp page was updated to note a "temporary closure." Now, the restaurant's business pages say the closure is permanent, and the Scottsdale location has been removed from STK's website.

STK's closure caught some guests with reservations off guard, who shared on Reddit that they were never notified.

"I had a birthday reservation in April and they didn’t call me or let me know that it was closed," one user wrote.

Now, two of the largest restaurants in Scottsdale's vibrant entertainment district sit vacant.
