There’s a long list of actors who want to be musicians.

Some of them form bands with bad names like Russell Crowe’s 30 Odd Foot of Grunts and Keanu Reeves’ Dogstar. Some even scored as musical one-hit wonders, such as Eddie Murphy and Bruce Willis. Few, however, have moved beyond the obvious crack of “Don’t quit your day job.”

Then there’s Jamie Foxx. With multiple Grammy nominations, a pair of platinum albums, and Top 5 singles like the recent “Blame It,” the man born Eric Marlon Bishop now boasts a music career that rivals his acting one, which merely earned him a Best Actor Oscar for Ray.

Not bad for a guy who was once best known for his cross-dressing, crazy-lady character, Wanda Wayne, on TV’s In Living Color.

Foxx brings his “Blame It” tour to the Dodge Theatre.
