All Girls Rule #5

Don’t get us wrong: We’re definitely down with all the old-school jams getting dropped during the off-the-chain hip-hop history lesson known as Take Me Back Tuesdays at Stray Cat Bar & Grill, 2433 East University Drive in Tempe. But let’s face it — the weekly DJ night is something of a sausage fest, dominated by such manly man residents as Señior Phat E, T3PO, and Area 4. On Tuesday, February 20, the script gets flipped for All Girls Rule #5, where such spinstress sirens as Tatyana, the Hip-Hop Shop’s Robyn, Shejay’s Diosa, Brazilia, and Groovetribe’s DJ Ness take control of the wheels of steel for the night, laying down plenty of ghetto-fabulous retro. There’ll also be live art from Zokes and plenty of drink specials. The ladies light up the decks starting at 9 p.m. and admission is $3 before 10:30 p.m., $5 afterward.
