Yann Martel wrote the award-winning Life of Pi in 2002. He hasn’t published a novel since, so it’s no wonder there’s hubbub over the release of his new book, Beatrice and Virgil.

While Pi was a survival story about a man trapped on a lifeboat with a zebra, hyena, orangutan, and Bengal tiger, Beatrice and Virgil focuses on the holocaust as well as a main character named Henry, who writes a play starring a stuffed donkey and howler monkey. Martel will do a reading, Q&A, and book signing at Changing Hands Bookstore.
